Review of 50/50 (2011) by Truman B — 24 Jan 2014
50/50 skyrockets to success on a topic everyone can relate to: cancer. Joseph Gordon Levitt's powerhouse performance as the cancer ailed Adam is enough to carry the movie to the home stretch while Seth Rogen as his sometimes hard to deal with best friend helps even the drama into comedy territory.
A gloomy Seattle setting, excellent and somber soundtrack, well chosen cast (Angelica Houston, Anna Kendrick) and near perfect screenwriting make 50/50 a modern classic.
