Review of 50/50 (2011) by Frame N — 20 Mar 2014
I'll start by saying that this was a great comedy, it puts to shame some of the films purportedly put out under the 'comedy' genre, managing to handle laugh-out-loud moments while sustaining a level of credibility.
The second thing I'll say is that cancer isn't something you can easily poke fun at, and this film obviously doesn't even try, instead it finds laughter and humility in mere human existence which far too often finds us in the most difficult of positions.
The film was less predictable than I expected, and the story telling and characterisation was so well done that I found everything about it satisfying. I'd recommend it to everyone.
