Review of 50/50 (2011) by Ess Q — 11 Apr 2014
This is one of the...if not the only Seth Rogen film I have ever seen and liked.
I knew of Joseph Gordon and Rogen prior to this film and was a little hesitant to see it thinking it would be lame and cause me to drool, however it was surprising.
The character relationships were awesome and as usual Bryce didn't disappoint as the bitch.
The parent aspect was on par with how an overbearing mom would act and the therapist relationship left you wondering just where boundaries were. The relationship between JGL and the men he meets at Chemo was equally as compelling and funny and gave an added element to the film to toss you back and forth on that roller coaster of emotions you had no idea a movie like this would insight.
If you are going just for funny you will be disappointed as this movie isn't just about funny (Which it has) it is about fear, pain, heartache, friendship, family and new beginnings. All this rolled up into characters you can relate to played well by actors that make you think you are their friends and this movie was a must see, more than once.
