This movie is making me question whether I cry with every movie or just special ones. Never have I cried so much during a movie. I should hate this movie. It has all the stereotypes. Man has cancer, girlfriend dumps him, best friend is a horndog, he meets a new girl, the nit picky mother, and the ever so famous hollywood ending. But heres the thing, these stereotypes all come with real characters. Adam (played by Joseph Gordon Levitt) is one of the most real characters I've seen. He's not the typical whiny cancer kid, and he's not the typical bold pretty boy. He's flawed and those flaws make him real, his friend Kyle (played by Seth Rogen) is not just a horndog, he cares for his friend and he is more than the comic relief Seth Rogen character. Ive seen movies with characters I cant believe that have whole franchises to make them believable (Twilight, Cars, and any Michael Bay project), yet somehow, I feel for everyone including the minor characters. Without giving too much away, one of the times I cried the most had to do with a minor character. Im surprised this didnt get nominated for anything.

9.5/10.
