Review of 49th Parallel (1941) by Cesar N — 13 Nov 2007
Funny in that sort of way that old movies don't really mean to be (and some that they do)...The stereotypes about Canada are laughable, from the Eskimo village with the Frenchman with the terrible accent, to the prairie religious commune, to the parade with the native chief.
..Every stop along the way. My favourite bit is almost definitely the scenes in which the remaining Nazis encounter the author in BC. The author puts on a great performance with a dry with and sarcastic humour that would normally be associated with a Brit.
