Review of 49th Parallel (1941) by Jay N — 25 Mar 2010
Another powell and pressburger thats dry and has a stick up its ass. its not that its bad. the canadian landscape is beautiful and there is some genuine tension as a thriller here, but its so politically motivated (which is still somewhat understandable) in its anti-isolationist ideals which urges the united states to enter the war.
but despite the technical aspects, it simply wasnt a film that I was terribly engrossed in.
