Review of 48 Hrs. (1982) by J.b. R — 27 May 2011
Walter Hill's 48 Hrs. is tight, tough, funny and fun. The film's influence can be seen in countless cop dramadies on both television and the big screen. Hill's direction puts this one above all the followers.
Excellent camera work and photography and a pitch perfect score by James Horner. What it lacks in substance is made up for in the great performances of Nolte and Eddie Murphy (in his first film role).
