Review of 48 Hrs. (1982) by Scott A — 23 Aug 2013
Had to re-watch this one, as I didn't recall too much from these films. It has a great cast, and by the end Nolte & Murphy have some great chemistry.
I will say that none of the action is anything mind blowing, and only some of the humor worked for me, as a lot of Nolte's lines are 100% racist, and that humor just didn't work for me.
I really liked Remar and Landham as the bad guys. They were pretty bad, and the violence the inflict on people was actually quite violent. Seriously, the gun shot violence in this thing is pretty hardcore.
O'Toole, a favorite of mine, is completely wasted in this film. Her part probably should've been cut out it's that pointless.
The ending was also very lack luster.
There have been far better 'buddy' films released, and the racist junk they tried to pass as humor really made this a let down.
