Review of 47 Ronin (1994) by John A — 05 Feb 2015
47 Ronin On its own stands as a pretty fun action movie. Based on the Japanese legend of the brave 47 warriors who defied a shogun's direct order to bring respect to their clan after the unjust execution of their lord.
This is a remake & one I cant comment on as I have not seen the original as of yet. But as the film stands it is a fun, fast paced & enjoyable action flick. Sadly however it relies on CGI to bring mythical creatures to life, which is justifiable but why use it for bringing fire to life.
Keanu Reeves' performance is the same as it always is and that's like a stiff piece of wood, so not much acting ability there. All together it's decently made & an enjoyable film.
