Review of 47 Meters Down (2017) by Jon C — 17 Jun 2017
Above average at best.
It tries to copy the success of The Shallows and Jaws.
The PG-13 rating hurts it a bit and the sharks aren't in it enough to really let the blood flow in the water.
But there a some good jolts to be had and you really are rooting for these two sisters played by Claire Holt and Mandy Moore to make it out.
A slight difference is that these two are trapped at the bottom of the ocean 47 meters below sea level and their oxygen is running low not to mention hydrogen bubbles that are created inside their skulls if they swim up too fast from the pressure.
These two sisters are good sharing a unique bond and working together to survive deep below the depths with these killing machines.
Jaws is the king of killer shark movies, The Shallows is almost on the same plane, but if you don't expect too much here then the movie is serviceable enough.
