A middle of the road film that attempts to be a minimalist sensation but its effect resembles a relatively dull British drama. That said, Charlotte Rampling and Tom Courtnenay give tour-de-force performances that elevate a uninspiring love story into a slight romantic drama.
Not so sure why the acclaim has been so forthcoming for this film.
