Review of 45 Years (2015) by Hugo G — 05 Jan 2016
7.7/10.
I decided to watch this movie based solely on Charlotte Rampling's performance, and I have to say that at first I was hesitant and didn't see all the buzz but with one scene she won me over and that was the last scene of the movie. She was just terrific and conveying all this emotions with just her facial expressions and her eyes, it was beautiful and one of the best performances I've seen, it was unbelievable. Furthermore, the movie as a whole had a simple plot that once the secret is revealed, suddenly things start to get little by little more dramatic but in small doses; and so the movie is indeed slow paced but the end result and that ending with Charlotte's performance makes it worth the while, and also Tom Courtney was really good.
