Review of 0.45 (2006) by Christopher J — 10 Aug 2007
The performances are fantastic, there's a great hyper-realism to it, the characterization is pretty good, and there's some very interesting philosophies in the picture. The issue really is that the "movie" stuff that gets thrown in, trying to make the ending a "happy" ending (in some ways it is, some ways it isn't), and the goofy sense of humor really detracts from the film.
It helps entertain you to keep you going on such a depressing trip, but it also keeps you from being completely immersed in this very realistic character-driven world. It's pretty freaking good, but I'm not 100% sure I'd recommend it.
