Review of 44 Inch Chest (2009) by Nick E — 17 Jan 2010
Wow what a great directorial debut, not quite up there with Reservoir Dogs, though the premise does have some similarities. Multi-layered and definitely open to interpretation, the film demands a second viewing.
There's echoes of Steptoe and Son in the Mcshane/Hurt double act but the movie belongs to Ray Winstone in quite possibly his best performance. A great movie!
