Review of 44 Inch Chest (2009) by Aj S — 17 Sep 2010
A dark, twisted, film with a great amount of black humor that only the British could conjur. Malcolm Venville likes to focus on the complexity of his characters, but in a more funny side of life kind of way, even when it comes off as odd and probably not the best time to be funny, it still works in a strange way.
I will say the film does tend to get sloppy during the dream-no dream sequence, felt a little lost at that time of the movie. But this movie is an actors movie, you've got an amazing cast; Ray Winstone, Ian McShane, John Hurt, Tom Wilkinson, Stephen Dillane, they're all just incredible in their roles, ESPECIALLY McShane & Hurt, those two banter is hilarious.
I'd recommand this movie, if you're in the mood for some top lining actors, see this movie.
