It's a stirring, emotional and inspiring story. One can't help but get emotionally involved in Jackie Robinson's rise to fame. For baseball fans, it's perfection. Yet, for the rest of us, it's pretty straight-forward.
Worst of all, it has some appalling, overly-sentimental moments. It's undoubtedly a sappy Hollywood film. But if you accept that, then the movie has its heart-warming and inspirational moments.
