A good movie overall. It is great that a movie was made to get the story out to a younger generation less familiar with it.
I thought the characters could have been better developed. I did not feel emotionally attached to any of them, so the more dramatic moments later in the movie felt empty. It was disappointing because the movie screams for emotional releases and satisfaction throughout the second half. I did become attached to Jackie once he got to Brooklyn, but thought they could have built up his character and his struggles more by providing more background on his life and racism at the time.
