Review of 42 (2013) by Fernando F — 29 Dec 2013
An amazing biopic of one of America's greatest athletes of all time that succeeds in inspiring baseball fans around the world. The film gives out solid acting, wonderful direction and great interpretation of true events told in the film. It also succeeds in exploring one of its main themes: racism. The film only has a very few inaccuracies, therefore, I highly recommend this movie to every die-hard baseball fan looking to learn about how African-Americans were able to enter the Major League Baseball. The film successfully respects the legendary Jackie Robinson and is instantly a biopic classic. Be cautious as the film uses racist language in order to successfully depict its racism themes.
Conclusion: If you're looking to learn something big about baseball's history and/or about how Jackie Robinson was able to become the first African-American to play baseball, then this film will give you enough answers and explanations alongside some solid performances, especially that of Chadwick Boseman and Harrison Ford. And if you're really a die-hard baseball fan, then this movie is perfect for you. I give this film 5 stars. The film will not disappoint in any way, so hope you enjoy it.
