With a fascinating true story, a fine script full of good dialogue written and directed by Brian Helgeland, great performances by Chadwick Boseman as Jackie Robinson and Harrison Ford as Branch Rickey and a slow but alright pace and flow, 42 is an exciting look at the life of a famous baseball player second best to Babe Ruth but the first one to be black.
