Review of 42 (2013) by Raji K — 24 Apr 2014
42 details the legendary baseball player who broke the color barrier in baseball, Jackie Robinson. This is the type of movie that was going to be made eventually it was only a matter of time. Chadwick Boseman stars as Robinson, and does have a respectable physical resemblance to him.
The problem with this movie is that its pretty boring. It has the same predicaments over and over, with players hating him, and it just seems to go and on, but at the same time tries to relive some of the more famous moments in his career such as the issue with Ben Chapman.
The movie overall is a fine retelling of the story of Robinson, but just never really hits a home run the way some other historical recounts tend to.
