Review of 42 (2013) by Wayne M — 04 Jul 2014
Jackie Robinson was a great man with an inspiring life story. Sadly this film doesn't rise to those heights. The story of Robinson, the first black man to play in the major leagues, is heavy handed and staid.
Cliches and sentimentalism abound in a film that could have be great but is merely adequate.
