Styled with a warm nostalgic color tone, 42 is very much an old fashioned sports bio pic, but there is nothing like a good old fashioned sports pic. I can only imagine how much more I would of enjoyed it if Christopher Meloni's brash, anything to win, coach was able to be part of the film longer.
