Review of 40 Days and 40 Nights (2002) by Moses T — 11 Jun 2008
The only really funny thing about this film is the examination of Lent and how its become more "trying to give something up for the betterment of self for 40 days" when Lent is more about self-denial out of respect for Jesus wandering the desert with nothing.
Often the thing that ppl give up is something you shouldn't be doing anyway, so it kinda defeats the purpose. Plus, in the film, his brother the RC "priest" is turned on by this whole 40 days without sex thing that he almost gets it on with a nun? Cripes! Most priests hear confessions of murder, infidelity, and so on daily, and you don't see 'em do the same.
Geez. It's funny, but for unfortunate reasons. DON'T see this film...
