Review of 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days (2007) by Sarah S — 20 Oct 2008
This is just flat out daring filmmaking. One of the things that makes this movie so unsettling is the long, unrelenting camera shots. The camera is so intimate with the characters that you feel almost as you're in the room for every scene.
.. which adds a level of unbelievable unease. Mungiu does an outstanding job of being gut wrenching, while at the same time never playing up action or emotion. This movie is not for the faint of heart by any means, but is hands down one of the best movies of 2007.
