Review of 3:10 to Yuma (2007) by Ollie W — 08 Sep 2011
Smoothly made and highly predictable western from Mr Mangold. Bale is unimpressive, Crowe mildly less so but Ben Foster is a revelation as the squeaky, creepy, gun-toting, super quick, utterly immoral second in command who easily steals the film from beneath the stirrups of the big hitters.
I'm slightly wary of the modern applications purportedly lurking beneath this simplistic and formulaic plot, then again, it is quite smug.
