Review of 3:10 to Yuma (2007) by Brandon S — 22 Jun 2012
3:10 To Yuma is an essential and fantastic western that proves that the genre is not dead. An artistic and brilliant western thriller like this has brought back the spirit of classic westerns and is one of the best remakes I have seen in a long time.
Ruseell Crowe and Christian Bale play outstanding performances and I really enjoyed seeing their characters go through a change during their journey, and although they may not become friends, the story shows two opposite men can really have more in common than they believe.
I enjoyed watching the relationship between the farmer and outlaw and watching their conversations was a fantastic character study. The director James Mangold has renemwed a love in westerns since the last good western before this was Clint Eastwood's Unforgiven back in the early 90's.
I really loved 3:10 to Yuma, and while being a great western, its also a fantastic action film and character study that grabs the audience and doesn't let go.
