Russel Crowe is as always great, he fantastically portrays this ruthless and dangerous outlaw. Not to say that the other members of the cast are any less great. In my opinion Logan Lerman was very good and of course so was Christian Bale.
I have noticed that western remakes tend to be better than the original, though I haven't seen the original 3:10 to Yuma, I can't imagine it being better than this.
