Review of 3:10 to Yuma (1957) by Tero H — 30 Dec 2012
The story begins excitingly with a chase, robbers and a Gatling machine gun. After that it gets all slow which lasts for about half of the film. Its still watchable because of Christian Bale and Russell Crowe, who manage to keep the story more exciting than it would otherwise be.
This story is really run by Bale and Crowe who both have different kinds of presence. They intensify what happens on the screen. The end action is intense as well. I hadn't seen a new western in a while which was a change.
Not a bad movie at all, I enjoyed watching it. I would have given this movie a higher rating, were it not for the slow middle of the movie, which didn't seem to contain any kind of gun slinging action at all, and lasted about half of the film.
But I usually want more action, just a personal preference of mine. The film is fine, go and see for yourself.
