Review of 3:10 to Yuma (1957) by Matt D — 01 Jun 2013
Crowe and Bale are excellent, and their characters/dynamic are well written and great to witness. Unfortunately, almost no other character gets their own justice of ever being fleshed out, or stuck with almost nothing to say (Alan Tudyk and Peter Fonda are reduced to a disgracefully small amount of screen-time).
Ben Foster (Angel from X3) makes a breakout performance as one of the best Western badasses of this age. A cameo by Luke Wilson, more or less, threw me off for a moment, but it was a neat turn for him.
Not the best Western, but pretty clever. Now I need to go see the original and compare.
