Review of 3:10 to Yuma (1957) by Eric M — 19 Feb 2016
*Wow* I've struggled to get into Westerns before, but "3:10 to Yuma" is engaging like no other Western I've seen thanks to standout performances by Bale and Crowe, intense action and a marvelous script.
The characters make the film, as Crowe's Lucifer-like outlaw tests the morality and resolve of Bale. Armed with an outstanding cast of characters, director Mangold embraces Western conventions while twisting expectations at almost every turn, culminating in a truly compelling climax.
A must-watch.
