Review of 3000 Miles to Graceland (2001) by Manu G — 17 Aug 2011
To quote Roger Eberts review of Cop and A Half: "Theres not alot thats original about 3000 Miles To Graceland but there is alot about it thats entertaining.".
There are good things about this movie and there are bad things so instead of doing this in my regular style reviews i've decided to make seperate lists for all the things good about it and all the things bad about it. Just like my Last Action Hero Review.
The Good:
Kurt Russel and Kevin Costner both do good jobs and Thomas Haden Church gives a hilariously nonchalant performance that makes me wanna laugh every time I think about him.
The story is pretty engaging and is sure to keep the audience entertained most of the way through.
It has alot of funny lines and has it's share of funny but also kind of strange moments that come out of nowhere.
The movie's violent nature works well with the situations that the characters are put in. I think so anyway.
Even though it uses every cliche in the book, the movie is actually quite entertaining and your gauranteed to have a good time watching it.
Now for the bad:
The beginning of the movie before Russel and Costner go there seperate ways is just terrible, absolutely horrible. It has some of the most cliche dialogue i've ever heard, and the acting was just horrendous.
It needed more Elvis. The whole movie is centered around Elvis impersonators but instead having some of Elvis' greatest hits as atleast part of the soundtrack they instead only play about two Elvis songs and the rest is heavy metal.
The scorpian effects suck.
The movie is pretty cliche and predictable and doesn't really create much suspense.
Courtney Cox can't decide if she's playing southeren or American, oh and she's also annoying.
That little music video that played during the credits is catchy but really embarressing.
So thats my review, hope you enjoyed and I hope that you found it informative. I'd say the movie is worth a watch it's entertaining enough for me to reccomend it. Good Bye!
