Review of 300: Rise of an Empire (2014) by August C — 26 Jul 2014

Instead of picking up where the last movie left off, it branches off leaving the spartan story on hold while it goes back in time to tell the story of Athens. The original 300 movie was somewhat of a refreshing surprise with a strong cast and a stylization which came off as compelling art.

This movie unfortunately has a case with far less chemistry and takes that iconic stylization and twists it with video game effects and the result is not nearly as compelling, and sadly feels like watching a video game.
