Review of 300: Rise of an Empire (2014) by Adam B — 10 Sep 2014
All that beautiful CG and the film still can't break the feeling of being confined to a soundstage. I loved the use of wide-angles and steady-cam in action scenes -- it's always a shame when great choreography is lost in close-ups and shaky footage -- but choreography alone couldn't save this from being a mess.
Spoiler alert: The secret weapon is a horse. Yup...
