Review of 300: Rise of an Empire (2014) by Drewstroyer — 04 Apr 2014

Tries much too hard to reproduce the successes of the original, but falls short in nearly every way. There were a few cool action moments as they fight on the sea, but the plot is totally uninteresting and the characters are too cliche to like.

I might have been able to enjoy it as a short action/semi-hero movie with style, but it took itself much too seriously to enjoy it. It seems to drag on and on, trying to produce depth that it just didn't have.

It took too long to tell a story, and the story was too cliche and uninteresting to be the focal point. Pass.
