Review of 300: Rise of an Empire (2014) by Blak D — 03 Jan 2015
Visceral violence is the order of the day as blood sprays, splatters and splashes the highly stylised camera work that sees Frank Millers Xerxes (sequel to his 300 graphic novel) adapted for the big screen.
Interweaving it's tale before, during and after the events of 2006's 300, this sees another group of outnumbered Greek soldiers taking on the advancing Persian force. Hack and slay fans will find much to enjoy, as will fans of the original film.
However, one viewing will likely be enough.
