Review of 300: Rise of an Empire (2014) by William C — 13 Aug 2014
I had close to zero enthusiasm for a 300 prequel-sequel at first, partly because they waited way too long to finally do one, but as it turns out it's actually halfway decent and not that much worse than the original.
It doesn't exactly add anything new, outside of setting most of the fighting on ships at sea, and has all the same faults as its predecessor, but it does have Eva Green being her usual great scene chewer self and Sullivan Stapleton is not a bad lead.
The action set pieces also kept my attention, and really that's all you could ask for in something like this.
