Review of 300: Rise of an Empire (2014) by Jayakrishnan R — 22 Aug 2015
Easily a step down from it's predecessor, 300 Rise of an Empire it's not even half as good as 300. What it makes 300 so good is the awesome performances, a great lead star, the trilling action, the suspense, drama and a great plot.
..all of these things are missing here and you can feel the absence of Gerard Butler. Here the performances are weak with the exception of Eva green who give us a deadly Artemisia but still she couldn't save the film from sucking.
Sullivan Stapleton as Themistocles is nowhere near as good as Gerard Butler, his performance is weak and boring, the supporting cast performances are also weak. This is a mindless war movie with no actual plot, just an army fighting an other army, nothing more !!!!
