Review of 30 Minutes or Less (2011) by C H — 25 Mar 2013

The movie is rather short and quick pace. Is crudely funny but never leave good impression. Jesse Eisenberg is a pizza delivery guy and he must deliver pizza within 30 minutes or else it is free. 2 teens make use of their hard to locate address to cheat the system.

Jesse didn't make it and wasn't paid. He knows the boys wanna buy beer and offer to help them buy if they pay him plus tip. Aziz Ansari is his friend who is a teacher. Danny McBride and Nick Swardson are friends and bums.

Fred Ward is Danny stern father, ex Major in Army who retires after winning lottery. Nick is good with self taught explosives. Jesse is seeing Aziz twin sister Dilshad Vadsaria. She is leaving town to go elsewhere as she is promoted.

Jesse tell Aziz and he don't even know. Then they start to reveal things they have kept and Aziz is angry he is seeing his sister and also sex with her on prom night. Their friendship ends. Danny want to open a tanning salon which is also a whore house.

He needs to kill Fred to get his money. He wanna hire people to kill him and need money. When the pizza ad flash, they know just who to find. Jesse deliver the pizza to their hideout a scrap yard. They knock him out and strap a time bomb onto him.

Danny want Jesse to rob the bank and get him $100k. Jesse left and no choice but go to school to find Aziz. He can't find any solution so he says he have to rob the bank. They go to buy props like mask and guns.

Then they steal a Datsun car from a friend of Aziz parents. Before going to the bank, Jesse says he gonna quit his job and drive to the pizza house. He run all the way to find Dilshad to say his last words.

Jesse and Aziz pretend to be escape Hispanic convict and rob the bank. The alarm sounded and a cop arrive. Jesse use his bomb to scare him away. The cops are in pursuit of them on vehicle and Jesse overturn and flip the car.

Then they run on foot and manage to escape. Danny call the hitman Michael Pena to collect the money from Jesse. He ask for the time bomb disarm code but Michael don't know what he is talking about.

And Michael point gun at him to shut up. Aziz creep from behind and hit him. They take back the money and escape. Jesse call Danny and want to re-negotiate. Danny hate the change of situation and want to blow Jesse up but Nick already changed the code.

Now Michael also gonna kill Danny. Nick had earlier follow Jesse when he find his girlfriend and now they gonna kidnap her as bargain chip. Michael go to the house and Fred fights him but is shot. Michael know where their hideout is.

Danny call Jesse for exchange deal. At the yard, Jesse bomb vest is disarm and Dilshad is safely exchange. But Danny wanna kill him. Jesse say he knew it and have a sniper aiming him. Aziz merely use a laser pointer that's all.

Michael arrive and beat Jesse, then fight with Danny for the money. Nick holding flamethrower fires him. He shot them both. Jesse take the money and escape. Danny chase him on car and halfway it blows up.

Jesse reactivated the bomb vest and throw in his car earlier. Now they are happily running with the money but the color fail safe explode in the bag of money. At the credits, they have an ad to promote Danny dream tanning salon call Major Tan.
