Review of 30 Days of Night: Dark Days (2010) by Rob P — 26 Nov 2010
The original 30 Days of Night is a brilliant movie, watching vampires ruin Alaska while Josh Hartnett and Melissa George fight for their life. The weather, the climate, and the fear make the original is very watchable.
Then comes the sequel, I wonder why the sequel didn't come out in the theaters, after I watched it, I think this movie will fail if the producer released it in widely.
Why? first of all, there's no Melissa George, her charming acts saved the first movie which is very dark if I may say. Kiele Sanchez who reprises Melissa's role did well but not good enough to carry the movie alone.
In this movie there's no Barrow or any similar town that have 30 days of night, the movie sets in L.A and to be truth, the movie fall into B Movie cliche and it's a shame knowing that this movie can't beat the original one (not fun as I expected).
There's still some fear moments and that makes me want to watch the movie till the end, but the fear that I feel can't replace the fear when I watch the first movie.
