Review of 30 Days of Night (2007) by Brad G — 28 Oct 2010
30 Days of Night had tremendous potential. A town besieged by monstrous vampires (yeah, no sparkly woe-is-me hoodies here); a small band of survivors struggling to make it through one month of absolute darkness.
But David Slade (Hard Candy) just doesn't know how to direct action with much of the man on beast fight sequences chop-socky edited into a blurry mess leaving the viewer scratching their head, "what the hell is going on?" Danny Huston's main baddie screams a scary profile but the vampire language is silly at best and the head-back screams get tired eventually.
It's a meh. VF.
