30 Days of Night was definitely a great vampire movie, and brought the TRUE vampire onto the screen. Romanticized vampires have been around for as long as movies have been made, but that's not what a blood-sucking, creature of the night would really be like, and the vampires in this movie are the closest I've seen yet.
The special effects, and the realistic gore were the most incredible part of the movie. Not to mention the really amazing and creative idea for the plot. But the writing, and the acting (basic execution of the movie) weren't as good. But still, overall the movie was entertaining and well made.
