For a good while in the vampire genre, we were on a more Anne Rice carousel of vampire movies, not saying at all that is a bad thing. As I have great interest in vampire flicks, 30 Days Of Night brings and delivers blood suckers to the extreme. The title of the film itself says it all...it's a vampires dream to have a month of straight darkness, and they take full advantage of terrorizing almost everyone by slaughtering the locals one by one.

There is no disappointment that these monsters absolutely do not play around. I think this is the first vampire film I've seen where they are extremely violent. The film keeps you on your seat at times. It is definitely an old fashioned vampire horror film, and I liked the plot of the film. I didn't mind the acting. If you love gore, you'll love this movie!
