Review of 3 Women (1977) by Joe Dutch S — 19 Nov 2007
A tour de force for Shelley Duvall, whose seemingly blank nonchalance has never been utilized to better effect. Her improvised monologues are pathetic, hilarious and really quite touching. I also think the movie works as a snarky swipe at Los Angeles and it's bummed-out consumerist car culture.
It's a profoundly squirm inducing movie...see it on a double bill with 'chuck and buck' and cringe yourself silly.
