Review of 3 Men and a Baby (1987) by Jack W — 27 Sep 2010
This film really makes me chuckle. A great comedy but with a really interesting heart. A great film of the 1980's. In terms of acting, story and music it was a good film.
The film was intriguing. The actors such as Tom Seleck, Steve Guttenberg and Ted Danson where popular during the 1980's and were superb in this film. It was refreshing to see them once again in their youth.
Its the story of three men; care free bachelors learning to become fathers. The plot is relatively straightforward. Though I didn't feel as much pay off as I would have wanted regarding their drug problems In fact, I think the bigger conflict became the taking away of the baby by Sylvia, the baby's mother.
The music was well times and quite good. Not overbearing, it matches the film perfectly.
It doesn't really snatch you like the more intense films. But somehow it does with its tenderness. the appearance of Paul Guilfoyle is also a welcome sight. Who knew he would do so well playing Jim Brass sometime later. This film can bring out a lot of sentimental feelings for those who watch it.
