Review of 3-Iron (2004) by Shaylynn C — 22 Apr 2008
A very dream-like movie. The cinematography is fantastic, it looks really natural, but you can see that every scene was really thought through to contribute to the story. I really enjoyed this movie, though it was a little weird and very open to interpretation.
The soundtrack is about one song long... no joke. It was a very quiet movie, but for some reason, it didn't really bother me much in this movie at all, because to me the storyline was so intriguing.
The main character has no lines in the movie. The main heroine has 6. Which makes for a very backwards style movie. Because it is Korean there are some parts that not just everybody would instantly get (Given even people who are aware of foreign culture might find it hard to really understand the full scope of this movie).
I think the director is semi-religious and adds a lot of Buddist symbolism, suggesting a spiritual bond instead of a physical. But, like I said, it's very open to interpretation, and really gets you thinking.
Check it out!
