Review of 3-Iron (2004) by Tore F — 21 Jan 2009
On the surface this is a fragile love story that evolves, but I am not sure it is... Anyway, I like the film although I do not know why yet - or maybe that's why I like it. Instead of love it could be about how to live a different life in a society where some lifestyle is dominant.
What kind of war-skills (martial arts) or how much love is required? Or maybe: How to live *in love* in a relationship without mutual love or understanding? And perhaps related to that: Maybe something spiritual is going on, fx at what reality level do meanings of small rituals of everyday life hover? Or how to be true to yourself? The aesthetics of the film is nothing special, though, just straight filming.
Could be somewhat shorter although the dwelling on things is part of the beauty. If you want action, don't watch this one. Or just watch it anyway.
