Review of 3 Days to Kill (2014) by Zachariah C — 22 Sep 2014
The goods, the bads and the possibilities. Kevin Costner putting out 2 high profile movies in such a short period...He obviously misses the spotlight. Unfortunately, this one fell a little short. I don't see him as this CIA badass, but maybe that's just me.
He is no Liam Neeson (and what is the deal with all the older actors trying to be Liam Neeson or Denzel? It doesn't just happen people). Any way, baring that set back, the story was a classic, by the numbers, set up.
Overall, too predictable and too many coincidences. You know that last second feeling the bomb gives you in every action movie? I feel like it happened (not a bomb specifically, just that last minute feeling) a few too many times.
Just happened to get there in time again? Woohoo. The only thing that was unpredictable was the daughters reaction and feelings, both in general and towards her father, in every scene. One may think she was bipolar or pregnant.
A little too all over the map-ish. If you really want to enjoy this, you have to turn off your mind and keep low expectations. Nothing great, but maybe one day when I see it in the $1 bin at the Exchange, I would buy it.
..maybe.
