Review of 28 Days Later (2002) by Noah S — 27 Jan 2016
Simply one of the greatest zombie movies ever made and not even because of the zombies themselves. "28 Days Later" ranks higher than most zombie movies because it's much more than just a "zombie film.
" It's a beautiful testament to the impressive power of making a creative movie on a dime. It's a fascinating sociopolitical commentary, filled to the brim with moral conundrums. It's a thrilling adventure filled with unexpected twists and brilliant nods to other horror films cut from the same cloth.
But, most importantly, "28 Days Later" is a superior zombie film, because the zombies aren't even the main threat throughout. Indeed, humanity and despair are the true antagonists of this film.
It has a heart and a mind and it's not afraid to show them both. Really, really commendable stuff here from everyone involved.
