Review of 28 Days (2000) by Carol C — 30 Mar 2008
"28 Days" is in fact my favorite Bullock comedy. This is one performance in which she is able to deliver both comedically as well as to interpret the more intimate aspects of her character. She is both comedic and humanistic.
Other great performances by Steve Buscemi and an especially adorable Mike O'Malley round out the film and complete it. Supporting actress extrordinaire Elizabeth Perkins turns out a believable older sister.
The young lady who portrays Bullock's roomate is quite good as well. While I understand that this is almost just a permutation of the same comedic role Bullock seems to play in alot of other films, I feel these kinds of films (when done as well as this) are necessary to life.
Not every performance and every film is "Oscar worthy", and they shouldn't be. This is "feel good" without being "fluff". Definitely take a look!
