Review of 27 Dresses (2008) by Katie C — 04 Jun 2010
Been a fan of Heigl's since I saw her in Wish Upon a Star many years ago. She has blossomed into a beautiful woman with talent in both serious and comedic roles. Here she plays a very likable character who is put through her paces in roller coaster fashion.
She does a great job. The story is, like most romantic comedies, very formulaic. The acting all around (Ackerman, Marsden, Greer, etc.) is better than average. While you don't get wound up in the story (it's not that deep), the performances and characters sweep you along into an enjoyable movie experience.
If you like the genre, you'll find this to be one of the better ones.
